Application and Request Process

1. Cause Intake

  • Beneficiary submits Welfare Assistance form (digital or physical) with ID proof, family details, and type of assistance needed.
  • Emergency requests may be made verbally but must be followed with documentation.
  • Applicant receives a reference number or acknowledgement that the form has been received.
  • Welfare committee checks for completeness of documents.

2. Cause Review and Verification

Initial Screening

  • Committee checks eligibility criteria (member of jamaat, genuine need, not duplicating benefits).

Background Checks

  • Committee conducts home visit/interview to verify income, living conditions and need.
  • Cross check with employers, landlords, neighbors, or family members if necessary.

Supporting Documents Check

  • Medical cases will require doctors' reports and hospital bills.
  • Financial cases will require pay slips, bank statements, proof of debt, eviction notices, asset documents and any other documents the committee deems necessary.
  • A minimum of 3 committee members review the application against set criteria (e.g., income level, urgency, family size).
  • Decision is recorded in writing with clear reasons.

Background Checks and Information Verification

As part of the application process, the welfare committee may need to conduct background checks and verify the information provided. This may include:

  • Home visits to verify living conditions
  • Interviews with the applicant and family members
  • Contact with employers to verify income information
  • Contact with landlords regarding housing situation
  • Contact with neighbors or community members for character references
  • Verification of medical information with healthcare providers
  • Cross-checking information with relevant authorities or organizations
